The Washington County Council of Governments and the Maine Department of Transportation produced the following maps for this Scenic Byway planning project. Map 1, the Bold Coast Brochure Map, was produced for the Bold Coast Scenic Byway tri-fold brochure. This map shows the Byway route and other major transportation corridors, and includes service center communities along the route, Map 2, the Bold Coast Route Map, is currently in draft form and is being produced as a poster-sized print to be distributed to and displayed at information centers and key businesses along the Byway route. This map shows the Byway route and highlights key sites and transportation routes along the Byway, and includes all Byway communities. As funding allows, this map will be reconfigured as the base for a foldable pocket map to distribute to visitors and residents of the region. Maps 3, 4, and 5, the Bold Coast Sign Maps, were produced by the Maine DOT and will be installed as permanent informational signs at 3 key Byway sites in 2015. These maps highlight the driving route along with photographs of key Bold Coast experiences. Another 4 of these permanent maps will be installed in 2016-2017, for a total of 7 informational signs. These signs will be located in Milbridge, Cherryfield, Jonesport, Machias, Lubec, Whiting, Eastport, and Perry. Maps 6-12, the Bold Coast Intrinsic Resources Maps, were produced as part of the Scenic Byway Eligibility Application, completed in 2010/2011. These maps highlight key intrinsic resources in small segments along the entire Scenic Byway. A number of map segments were included in this Application. Maps 6-12 highlight the 7 key “gateway” areas along the Scenic Byway.
